Oh, slime.  The 2017 fad of the year maybe.  Still, my kids love to make slime.  As with everything, everything has STEM in it, including slime!  You can talk about viscosity, polymers, strength of materials, malleability, the list goes on.  Wanna know how to make slime?  EASY!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (4-ounce) bottles washable school glue (i.e Elmer’s)
  • food coloring (optional)
  • glitter (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons saline solution (i.e., contact lens solution), divided.  Make sure it has boric acid or it will not work.

Directions:

  • Pour glue into a bowl
  • add one or two drops of food coloring
  • add a teaspoon of glitter
  • stir
  • add baking soda
  • stir
  • add contact solution
  • stir
  • done

Just use glue and some of this stuff and follow the directions.  Works like a charm!
